It’s been almost one year since the world premiere of FLO in Zlín (1st screening for public). We’d like to ‘celebrate’ this day with saying thank you to the Polish Brothers and Stana Katic for creating this little black&white magic that has touched and inspired so many people. Please join us if you feel addressed! :)

All you have to do is take a picture of yourself holding something connected with FLO (it can be anything: a photo, a poster, a quote, an object etc.) and tweet it next Tuesday on May 29th between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. EU time (GMT+1). If a photo doesn’t work for you, you may as well create any kind of fanart or other tribute to the film. The important thing is that you mention @Stana_Katic @markpolish @michael_polish and don’t forget to add a hashtag #Thanks4FLO (please don’t use the tag before - we don’t go for trending but it’d be nice to send all of it at the same time;)).

Kudos to Veró for coming up with this lovely idea! 

Just a little reminder for everyone who wants to take part, you’ve got 2 more days for your photoshoot ;) Remember, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy and it doesn’t matter if you were in Zlín, got FLO on iTunes on its release day, or just recently discovered it. Very much so.

One of the things I loved about The Astronaut Farmer is that the Polish brothers chose their own kids to be in this movie which turned out to be a brilliant idea because both of the girls, although they were not actresses, mastered the roles of Farmer’s children with such easiness and spontaneity that their presence on the screen felt more natural than acting of some of the proffesional kid stars.

This is just a video done behind the scenes on one of my shoots.

This is clearly inspired by the work of The Polish Brothers in their movie For Lovers Only. The song I used, ‘Sur La Plage’ was composed by Kubilay Uner by the same movie, and it’s gorgeous. Both are, so if you haven’t yet, check it out!

HOW on earth did I miss this? So lovely :)

Oh man. 

Oh, Polish Brothers, how brilliant can you be?

I still can’t form coherent thoughts about it. But oh damn. It was so dark and beautiful and the iconography, the elements in the kid’s… oh God, that was fantastic, and the processing, the colors in the movie and the landscape, and the characters, so absolutely and deliciously flawed and this is why I love cinema. 

I still… I can’t. I’m just going to go and watch something brain numbing, so I can wake up in the morning and watch this film again.

Beautiful thoughts on #Northfork, I wish @markpolish & @michael_polish would see them. My impressions were similar. Well.. At first I couldn’t think at all. Mainly because I was exhausted from crying all the way through the credits. I needed time to fully process this film and eventually, I understood. And what remains is not the original sadness but the beautiful poetry of this “love letter to death”, the mindblowing cinematography, those funny little bizarre moments and all the thoughtful details..
